The movie had great moments but a poor arc overall. The gore and jump scare scenes were great but in a contained clip sense. The evolution of the creature seemed random. She randomly started talking and randomly had telekinesis and then randomly had mind control. The reasons why those things happened were hard to follow. The character of Layla's mother was dealing with a problem that the other characters didnt find a better solution for. The movie ends with putting the demon in the human villain, but what happens when her body "runs out?" Where does the demon go then?

The acting was subpar, the story felt forced and the horror elements just didn’t hit for me.

I wouldn’t say it’s good but I had a great time and I wasn’t expecting that! There were some really cheesy things in the trailer, such as the line, “Don’t worry grandma, it’s fun to be dead,” that made me certain it was gonna suck. I think the coolest thing was that the demon possessed all the kids, too.

If you a fan of this universe, Lee Corrin's The Mummy was Grostesque, Nasty and a fun evil dead vibes (7.5/10)
