"Sylvie's Love" is an unrealistic letdown . Tessa Thompson (Sylvie) and Nnamdi Asomugha (Robert) were terrific in their acting roles, but the script conclusion was an atrocious letdown. The viewer does not know what work Sylvie is going to do to help the family survive. Detroit's manufacturing pay has fallen over the years, and the family cannot live a strong middle class life on Robert's pay.

This is a nice movie, perfect for a week night when you do not want to be too challenged. It does not dig deep, and I think missed some opportunities to go further with the historical context, the music and other themes, but I still enjoyed the movie.
