The movie was slow to start that I felt like falling asleep. That was until the explosions were taking place. If people aren't familiar with the actual event, they won't he prepared to appreciate the movie.

The cast gives solid performances (except John Malkovich who plays a caricature and feels like he belongs in a different movie). Peter Berg does a great job of making us care about (most of) these characters and building tension, so when the Deepwater Horizon does explode, we feel it and we fear for them. But that doesn't happen until the halfway point, which causes major pacing problems.

My husband really enjoyed it. I struggled, got kind of lost thru it, with the words used at times ( whats that mean?) . The action was incredible, acting was great.

It was an enjoyable movie but the ending seemed to come to an abrupt conclusion
