I thought it was scary but mixed with a few funny parts. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to others.

Had a decent story line and a reason for the title . The acting was not the best. and the special effects were lacking in so many ways. For a horror film , i was disappointed as i was not scared in the least at any time during the movie.

Saw the Bye Bye Man tonight. Ridiculous name, but the concept was actually a bit unique. The theory is that mass murders (when someone just "snaps") are caused by the influence of a creature that lives on through the IDEA of him. Anyone that hears his name is forever haunted by him, leading to eventual madness. The movie would have been better had they not SHOWN us how cheesy the Bye Bye Man looked, however. There would have been more fear in the unknown. Also, no information was provided on why the Bye Bye Man loved coins, trains, and terribly produced CGI dogs. This one earns three stars, because I enjoyed it; the idea is fresh and the jump scares were very well done. I think they could have done more to improve the on idea though.

Above average story. Good editing. Good boogey man. Mediocre dialogue and acting. Spooks are rather predictable and cliche. It reminded me a bit of a Buffy episode or Nightmare on Elm Street, especially when the hero thinks he's realized how to defect the bye bye man. But the story's own twists are enough for the movie to stand on its own.
