A little to shmaltzy at times and a bit too long. Otherwise it was entertaining.

Terrific autobiographical drama about director Steven Spielberg's childhood growing up in New Jersey, Arizona and California. It's very personal and touching with a moving performance by Michelle Williams as Mrs Fabelman, Sam's mother - a performance which is likely to receive acclaim during award season. As for the film it's a bit long at just under 3 hours as the journey of young Sam Fabelman.

Great performances. Judd Hisch was amazing. An interesting story about family secrets and the passion.of talent. To be honest, I am wondering how/why this is opening on Thanksgiving. It's not exactly family "feel good."
