Jennifer Hudson was spectacular in the biopic of Aretha Franklin's life and so was Forrest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans and the rest of the entire cast especially the young child prodigy who played Aretha Franklin as a child. I would definitely recommend the movie.

Deserving of an academy nomination for Ms. Hudson.

This movie sent you on an emotional roller coaster. From beginning to end you were able to see the ins and outs of the relationship of Aretha Franklin and her father. They depicted the strengths and weaknesses of her father and why she was such in a bubble. I never knew how she had her baby early on. With all of the things that happened to Aretha, this film showed how she became such a superstar which was truly amazing. I especially enjoyed seeing how captivating Marlon Wayans was on the movie and how his character caused Aretha’s success grow exponentially.

Wonderful film depiction of an amazing Black woman! A little long, but the music and singing are worth it! Awesome cast!
