Because I’m older .... I really did not all the times that the mom slapped the son. The story was fine and I understand that he was not planned. I wish the mom was more likable\r\r\r\r\r

I think that high school and 20 somethings would like this movie. It stopped playing for me in the middle of the film.

Boogie told a story of survival, racial injustice, discrimination and young love. The movie will resonate with many immigrants, who have had to deal with such issues. Overall it kept my interest, the actors did a fine job in their roles, and it is watchable. However, the end of the movie blew it for me. I did not like how the audience was left hanging having to imagine what finally happened to Boogie in his basketball career. For that reason alone, I gave it a rating of 3 stars.
