It was the epitome of nostalgia for anyone who likes anything remotely "geeky". Although I was a bit skeptical about all of the CGI, it was not all that bad because one really felt as if one was inside the game. The only thing that threw me off was the part about his aunt not being brought up. Regardless, I'm going to watch it again in theatres, just to catch more easter eggs from other franchises

I really enjoyed it.

It's just flat out fun. It retains the essence of the book, amps up the theme of selfless connection, and launches the adventurous thrill rides into hyperdrive.

You can go wrong with movie if you like comic, or music or 80s or other movies. Plus is fun and great effects. It was a little slow at times but mostly for character development.
