One of the best movie I’ve seen in all my years. Great (true) story, so well told and acted. Very interesting and inspiring!

It was a little slow at the beginning but had a very powerful ending. A very compelling story and there is an important message about the need to resist letting fear and anger drive us to abandon our core principles - a very timely message in the current divisive environment we live in (both from a political as well as social/pandemic perspective). I also liked the footage during the end credits that showed the real "Mauritanian", which added even more to the sense of empathy for this guy who spent so many years locked up without due process. The film had a fine balance for those - like me - that have no sympathy for the 9/11 terrorists (or any terrorists for that matter): providing characters that represented the perspective of well intentioned patriots that felt compelled to take action, even if it meant unwittingly becoming what they thought they were protecting against. Definitely a movie that caused me to reflect and consider the strength of my convictions, and ponder how I would have reacted if found in the place of any of these characters. Well done!
