I liked the overall theme of the movie but I thought the script didn't define whether this was the coming of age story of Beth as the narrator or the story of Frank coming to terms with his sexual identify, his father and the death of the teenage lover. The weaving of the story didn't come together for me. The acting was terrific, Beth, Frank and Wally were terrific. The cinemaphotography was lovely, nice music track.

It was a good movie that taught tolerance.

It depicted 1973 very well. I think a lot of that thinking still exists. There has been progress, but slowly.
