Great movie

Beautiful cinematography, gorgeous direction. Incredible acting from Danielle Brooks. Fantasia SANG! A bold reshaping of an important story. As a director, I’m very inspired. I did not like the new song sung by Halle Bailey to young Ceely when they started dancing on the shore. It did not seem of the world. It felt like a level of joy I don’t think Ceely or Netty would have felt within that part of the story.

Fantastically superb! The choreography of all the dancing was wonderful! Both the original, and the new color purple are amazing movies. Best of all one doesn’t infringe on the other at all. We need more movies like this one. Thank you for the opportunity to preview this fantastic film.

STUNNING. Heartbreaking, inspiring. An all-around masterpiece. This is what a movie musical should be. The entire cast shines. This is Fantasia Barrino's comeback... but her voice always made her a STAR. If this film doesn't win awards, people weren't paying attention.
