It isn't so much "gruesome horror" as it is rich storytelling. The scares are "childish" at times, and that will anger some, but that shows they don't understand the true story and lore of "It". Also Bill Skarsgaard is a GREAT Pennywise.

In both modern remakes and horror films, this movie stood well-beyond ~94% of everything else. It was well directed, quality scenes, excellent nostalgia and King references. This has to be followed up with the expected sequel with a quality cast that will be slightly better than the original.

Fast paced but long, however I enjoyed It. It wasn't too scary but still a thrill.

Very entertaining, but a little too much goofiness. I felt like the tone of the movie was all over the place and couldn't seem to find its stride.
