Being a fan of the musical,l was moved by the film. I laughed, I cried (a lot) seeing a film about Latinos that went beyond stereotypes and tokens. This film marks a new era in representation in film the way it did to Broadway when it premiered in 2008. The cast is phenomenal and a prime example of what happens when trained actors in musical theatre are cast in a musical. 10/10 will see again!

All of the changes that were made from the Broadway version worked perfectly to translate the story to the screen.
