This was a great movie. They took something that every teenage girl goes through and showed both the dark and the silly that can happen at the same time. I saw several teenage girls there with their Mom's, and they seemed to really get the message too. This is a great film for teen girls to see.

The film's heart was in the right place but there were more misses than hits. The protagonist was in such a negative space that it dragged the movie down despite her obvious beauty, amusing insights and entertaining relationship with her teacher. I really felt almost nothing about what was going on until her brother's "big speech" which finally began the healing process.
