While there are some cracks in the surface, IT manages to put a lot of heart into what is also a genuine horror movie. Ultimately, I cared about the Losers, which made the threat that much more dire. This could have gone wrong so many ways, but its missteps were small and easily overlooked.

Strikes the right balance between humor and horror. Scares are earned through atmosphere, well-crafted sequences, and meaningful character development, rather than simply jump scares. I really liked it.

Very well done. I liked that they did not try to just copy the original movie, and that it could stand alone even though it is the first chapter.

Overall, i thought it was a great movie experience. The acting was on par and the music went perfectly with the time period. I like that there was some comedy along with the thriller aspect of it. Some of the CGI was a bit silly but you're supposed to get this from the POV of a child so it's expected. Not as good as Tim Curry but definitely up there.
