A good story but a little slow moving at the beginning.

Uncle Frank is a standard film about the struggle to come out to your family. The story is sweet, as it comes from the refreshing angle of the relationship between an uncle and his niece, delivering a coming of age story for both parties, uncovering why he has such reservations towards letting his family in. It is a typical story that starts and ends nicely, going through the usual motions and covering all the bases, but the solid emotional performances and decent cinematography help to elevate the film. The movie has a simple message, but it is a lovely sentiment
