The story is fairly straightforward. The acting is quite good. The sound editing/mixing is excellent.

A bit slow in places, but I think that's the point. Does great things with sound. Wouldn't be surprised if Riz Ahmed gets Oscar buzz off this.

I would recommend the movie, absolutely. For the performances.\r\rAuditorily (sound design-wise), there were MANY missed opportunities. The screenplay, as well, did not fully live up to the potential of the story and the devotion of the acting talent.\r\rSimilarly, this screening experience missed the mark. Providing subtitles is absolutely a prerequisite, not only for this film in specific but for any screening or presentational experience. But, to make them not only a default, but baked in and unable to be disabled fundamentally undermines the message and intent of this film.
