Gripping story line, great acting. There were many directions it could have gone that would have increased the interest level, but it did do a very good job on the subject matter.

started slow but very good by the ending

My husband and I would rate it a 3 and a half out of 4. The story line was well written and kept us captivated during the entire movie. The film was well casted with Maguire and Schreiber both giving great performances, especially Schreiber who gives a very convincing performance as the Russian chess master. We would definitely recommend this film to our friends.

I thought this movie was well made. Toby McGuire did an excellent job of portraying the troubled chess champion.
