It was absolutely gorgeous! Costumes, music, production design are incredible. Wonderful cast, and the supporting characters really shine. The story showed a lot of heart, and the characters' feelings were believable and touching.

This adaptation of Jane Austen's novel is fresh and decadent. Compared to the somewhat sleepy Gwyneth Paltrow version, this film is vibrant and much more engaging. The personality of our heroine is more pompous and clever than any of the versions I have seen before, and it is the truest comparison to Emma herself. The costume and set design is colorful and beautiful, which contrasts some of the grizzly thoughts that some of the characters are thinking of each other. This is a pretty film, and although we might know the story of Emma, this adaptation takes us on a colorfully wild ride.

It was in fact clever and intriguing but was a slow pace for someone that is experiencing this story for the first time.
